We have hand picked a team of allied health professionals who are not only fully qualified and experienced in their fields, but also friendly, approachable and understanding. We are committed to working with you to developing the best treatment program to get you back to your optimal health as quickly as possible, and we aim to provide strategies for you to maintain this optimal level of health.

We currently offer physiotherapy, Pilates, podiatry, dietetics and remedial massage services. Our practitioners and therapists implement proven and evidence based strategies using the latest equipment. We understand that every case is different and we take the time to get to know you.

BodyFocused Physio and Podiatry is owned and run by husband and wife Stephen and Lauren. Both Stephen and Lauren are passionate about providing quality health care in a warm and welcoming environment. Stephen is the principal Podiatrist at Connective Healthcare and Lauren is a secondary school teacher who works behind the scenes to make sure the clinic runs smoothly. The two year old you see climbing all over the Pilates equipment is their son Jack and the doggo who sits at the front door is their furbaby Poppy. Together, we look forward to workiing you and helping you to achieve your health goals.

Stephen Thomas

Stephen Thomas

Practice Manager, Podiatrist

Owner and manager Stephen Thomas brings over a decade of experience working in podiatry to help you manage and relief your foot problems.

Stephen’s passion in foot care started at a very early age when he to suffered from a series of foot and knee injuries that prevented him competing at peak level. Fortunately Stephen was referred to a great podiatrist who was able to re-align his feet and legs.

Since graduating from the University of South Australia in 2003 Stephen has developed a wealth of experience in foot care. Stephen is an expert at permanently removing re-occurring in grown toe nails, painful corns, modifying and repairing orthotics and diabetic foot education.

Physiotherapist, Podiatrist

Ed is an experienced physiotherapist and podiatrist and he has worked across a variety of public and private hospitals with a focus on orthopaedic and musculoskeletal injury and more recently in rehabilitation. With a particular interest in lower limb injuries and biomechanics, Ed is able to combine and integrate his physiotherapy and podiatry knowledge.

Having completed courses in Clinical Gait Analysis, Dry Needling, Vestibular rehabilitation, APA spinal 1, and Clinical Pilates, Ed provides an evidence-based approach to your healthcare, working with you towards mutually determined goals.

Nick Harrison

Nick Harrison

Physiotherapist

Nick has over 10 years experience as a physiotherapist and has worked in a variety of settings, including acute hospitals, community rehabilitation centres and for the best part of 8 years, private practice. He has also worked for a number of sporting teams and is currently the Physiotherapist for the Melbourne United Basketball Club in the NBL. His career highlights include being a part of the 2017/2018 NBL championship winning team, travelling to China with the NBL All-Australian team and to the USA for games against two NBA teams.

Nick has a special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of knee and chronic tendon pain as well as acute injury management. He is experienced in treating a wide variety of injuries and utilizes a number of techniques including dry needling, Clinical Pilates, strength training and exercise prescription. He is passionate not only about helping patients recover from injuries, but also reducing the likelihood of recurrence and ensuring they are able to perform at a higher level.

Lucas Hoare

Physiotherapist

Lucas has worked in private practice physiotherapy for the last 8 years after completing his physiotherapy degree at Charles Stuart University. Over this time he has worked with a wide range of clients ranging from sports and recreational injuries, to degenerative conditions.

Lucas has completed courses in spinal 1&2, sports 1&2, dry needling, advanced shoulder and vestibular rehabilitation and has a keen interest in hip and shoulder rehabilitation, particularly in the sporting setting. He is very passionate about individualizing treatments for all clients and focusing his assessment and treatment towards the goals of his clients, both short and long term.

Lucas enjoys spending time with his family and friends all across Australia, traveling and playing with his dog Arnold.

Aine O’Donnell

Podiatrist

Áine is originally from Ireland and obtained a Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of Ulster Northern Ireland in 2014. She also studied a Diploma in Remedial Sports Massage. Having worked across various settings in Ireland, the UK and Australia, Áine’s interests include general care, biomechanics as well as injury prevention and management. Áine has a true passion for people and has a holistic approach to her profession.

When she’s not at work, you’ll find Áine at the beach with her Groodle Leo!

Mari Okita-Baldwin

Mari Okita-Baldwin

Myotherapist

Mari has always believed in the power of natural therapies and has a keen interest in the connection between the body and mind, and the impact that this can have on health.

Mari started her training with reflexology and Swedish massage and has since expanded her qualifications to include remedial massage, myotherapy and Shiatsu. She is also currently studying Japanese needle therapy. Mari has studied extensively in areas such as the impact of diet on physical and mental well-being, natural medicine and ways of increasing immunity and she has a holistic approach to health and well-being.

When you have a session with Mari, you can expect a treatment which draws on her breadth of experience and that is personally tailored to your physical, mental and emotional needs.

Myotherapist

Kara graduated from RMIT with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy. She is passionate about helping her clients address and treat the sources of their musculo-skeletal pain and dysfunction so that healthy pain-free function returns. She has a particular interest in neck pain, headaches and lower back pain and incorporates a thorough assessment, a personalised treatment plan and self-help exercises and education to assist her clients in preventing future recurrence.

Kara has experience treating a broad range of clients and conditions, so whether you are an office worker, manual labourer or athlete, Kara can help you re-attain pain-free function.
